How to Write a Job Post That Gets the Right Applicants
Rozgaar Setu team · Updated
Workers usually read job posts on a phone, often in a hurry. The posts that get good applicants are short, specific and honest about pay and timings.
Use a plain job title
Write the title the way a worker would search for it: “Delivery Rider”, “Shop Helper”, “Tempo Driver”, “Kitchen Helper”. Avoid internal job codes or vague titles like “Executive”.
Include what workers check first
- Exact pay, and whether it is daily, weekly or monthly
- The area or nearest landmark
- Working hours, shifts and weekly off
- Whether experience is needed or you will train
- Anything the worker must bring, such as their own two-wheeler
Only ask for what the job needs
Asking for unnecessary documents puts off good applicants. On Rozgaar Setu, the only document a job can require is a driving licence, and only for jobs that involve driving.
Describe the day honestly
Two or three sentences about a normal day — what the worker will actually do — helps people judge whether they can do the job well. Honest posts lead to fewer no-shows.
